Third Scan - Wednesday 26th July 2006

We had our third scan today, very early at Leigh Hospital for 9:10am. This time with Kieran along for the ride, were really confident of a baby show. Diane has started feeling movement, tuesday night was particluarly busy, after a smoothie drink sent the baby doing summersaults!
Meybe we're a bit too early, the staff are runing around like they're not ready yet. New room & new machine, this looks promising for better pictures...
As usual the first 10 minutes is spent with the nurse checking all the measurements and necessary bits. The baby is very active and constantly bobbing up and down.
We can see things alot better now, the baby is alot bigger & starting to fill out, the features are alot clearer. We also get to see a fully formed hand along with finger nails, quite amazing.

• What can you see in this picture?

Although this is the 3rd one along, this picture isn't the clearest, I think this is due to there being more flesh/muscle etc. However the body is alot more defined. Overall it looks more baby shaped.
We actually saw alot more in the scan room than is shown on this picture. Features are beggining to show.
After a bit of persuasion, the nurse did manage to tell us that we are having a boy! Although these things can never be 100% acurate in her oppinion there is a little winky on there!
This has come as a great relief for both Diane & my Mum who confessed to no knowing what to do to keep girls entertained!! although I didn't really have a prefrence either way, so lets just hope for there sake it doesn't change on the next scan!
